Hack the Future was an event series organized by SeedAI in partnership with the Wilson Center’s Science and Technology Innovation Program to drive AI learning, assessment, and engagement deeper into communities traditionally left out of technological change. The SeedAI team embarked on an exhilarating cross-country mission, bringing Hack the Future events to communities across America.
Hack The Future: Miami, FL
SeedAI united over 100 students, educators, and industry professionals at Miami Dade College's cutting-edge AI Center. Attendees were captivated by Manny Cid, Senior Adviser for Economic Opportunity at Miami Dade County, who shared groundbreaking insights on how Miami is leveraging AI to tackle the city's most pressing challenges. The collaborative energy was electric as participants engaged in hands-on workshops and formed valuable connections. We're incredibly grateful to Miami Dade College for hosting this transformative event in their state-of-the-art facility, helping bridge the crucial gap between academic learning and real-world AI implementation!
Hack The Future: Long Beach, CA
Our West Coast adventure in Long Beach exceeded all expectations! With representatives from Space Force, Northrop Grumman, and even the Los Angeles Clippers delivering remarks, over 50 engaged participants put their skills to the test against our cutting-edge red-teaming platform. A special shoutout to the fantastic Long Beach Community College CyberSecurity Club for their outstanding partnership in co-hosting this event!
Hack the Future: Denver, CO
We were honored to welcome Colorado's very own Senator Hickenlooper! Our partnership with the Metropolitan State University of Denver Girls Who Code and Women in Cybersecurity clubs made this event particularly exciting. Participants gained invaluable insights into the 119th U.S. Congress AI priorities, formed meaningful connections, and masterfully conquered several challenging red teaming exercises!
Hack the Future: Phoenix, AZ
We brought together community college students, innovators, and policymakers to engage with artificial intelligence and discuss its impacts on Arizona and the country as a whole. The event featured a red-teaming competition, presentations, and thought-provoking discussions led by local industry and academic leaders. The red-teaming competition leveraged SeedAI’s new red-teaming platform, built in collaboration with AE Studio, designed to help users develop expertise in identifying vulnerabilities in AI systems to improve their safety and reliability.
We were honored to welcome Senator Kyrsten Sinema who delivered encouraging remarks to attendees, emphasizing the transformative power of AI, the need to balance innovation and regulation, and the impacts the technology poses on American economic life. The event also featured a panel with insights from participants Gavin Klondike, Principal Security Consultant at GlitchSecure, Habib Matar, Lead Professor of AI at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, and Minky Kernacs, CEO at Mercurio Analytics and Chair of the AZ Tech Council AI Ecosystem Committee.
Hack the Future: Houston, TX
SeedAI debuted our new red-teaming platform – designed in partnership with AE Studio to support broad public participation in AI testing and training – as part of Hack the Future: Houston, in collaboration with local student-led organizations from Texas State University, Houston Community College, and the University of Houston. This event, supported by T-Mobile and Google.org, served as a soft launch for a grassroots initiative leveraging the platform to empower local communities and individuals to learn about and shape the technological advancements that are already shaping the world.
We brought together over 80 attendees with diverse educational backgrounds ranging from people with no high school diploma to people with Bachelor’s degrees, with the majority either having completed an Associate’s degree or some college.
Hack the Future: Austin, TX (SXSW Takeover)
The energy was undeniable as we transformed one of Austin Community College's impressive ACCelerator Labs into an AI innovation hub during SXSW week! The convergence of tech enthusiasts and students created an atmosphere of boundless possibility and learning.
Hack the Future: Tulsa, OK
In collaboration with Black Tech Street, we convened in historic Greenwood, Oklahoma, also known as "Black Wall Street," a location rich in socio-cultural history that must be built into the foundation of all AI research, education, and adoption efforts.
